About the Webmaster

I started this website to keep the details of the Ganjgal Ambush in a public place that was separate from James' memorial site so his site would not be the target of drama that was almost certain to follow.

I'm very glad I did.

So, who am I?  And why am I suddenly writing articles that seem to be defending a Medal of Honor recipient, who clearly doesn't need me to defend him?  Let me clarify that for you....

I am the girlfriend of James “Doc” Layton's dad, Brent. I didn't know James. I met Brent because of events that took place after James' death. I have never claimed to be James' family, despite the fact that Brent says I am. I am simply Brent's girlfriend. I accompany him to Gold Star events, I try to stay out of the way, hide from the camera, but he drags me into the spotlight with him when he can. I am not comfortable with it, but he says it helps him. So I do it. That's not what this is about though.

What I really am is what matters here...I AM a Soldier's Mother. I AM a Veteran's Mother. I AM the mother of an American that disregarded his own personal comforts and freedoms to go fight for ours. And I'm damned proud of all my kids because they do what is right, even if it's not popular.

That is why I am speaking out again the reporter who has his own personal reasons for trying to make Dakota Meyer look bad. I'm doing what I think is right, no matter how unpopular it might be amongst some of the people who are involved in this incident. And I don't really care who thinks I'm interfering or that I don't have the right to speak up because I'm not family.

If it were my son being attacked with misleading facts that were published by a reporter, for the whole world to see, that were making my son's life miserable, I would hope there would be at least one person who would stand up and point out the facts.

So, I'm not here for anything other than to point out the facts.

I'm here to do the right thing.
